GMA News TV’s Cine Totoo to screen documentaries in September
For its inaugural run, GMA News TV's international documentary film festival Cine Totoo will screen 11 films from September 24 to 30 at the SM Megamall, SM Manila, and Trinoma Mall cinemas.
The films are the works of 11 independent filmmakers from across the Philippines. “We are excited to share the films of this talented batch of filmmakers. They each offer a unique and interesting insight into the contemporary Filipino experience,” said festival director Joseph Israel Laban in a statement.
In no order, the films are:
“Walang Rape sa Bontok” (Carla Ocampo) - two Filipinas who had been sexually abused search for a haven where women can live without fear of more abuse.
“Mananayaw” (Rafael Froilan) - the current generation of male ballet dancers takes center stage.
“Gitaristang Hindi Marunong Mag-skala” (Sigfried Barros-Sanchez) - looks at underrated, talented ex-Jerks lead guitarist Nitoy Adriano.
